FAQ: Before you board!
On Time looks amazing, can you tell me more about it?
On Time is a 2020 Bayliner Element XR7 that has been meticulously cared for since purchased new! She is fully enclosed for comfort, yet easily opened up for an open air experience. On Time is powered by an extremely reliable Mercury 200 hp engine. She gets up to speed quickly fully loaded and is extremely stable! She's regularly taken out of the water for scheduled maintenance and cleaning.
What qualifications does the Captain have?
Captain Tony is licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard with a 25 ton Master Captain's License. His Merchant Marine Credential is always available upon request while aboard. He has over fifteen years of boating experience just in the Puget Sound. Eleven of the most recent years have been as a Marine Patrol Officer aboard Port of Seattle's police boat, "Harbor 1". So long story short, he is fully licensed as a charter boat Captain and has over a decade of experience upon our waters responding to rescue/response calls, port security protection details, and on-water calls for service as a police officer.
How many people can it hold?
Our Element XR7 holds six guests beautifully with ample room to move about! She's rated for many more passengers (16 actually), but per U.S. Coast Guard requirements, we are limited to taking no more than six passengers while on a charter/tour. Quite honestly, our #1 compliment has been, "This is a super comfortable boat!"
What should we bring?
Sunglasses, clothing for the weather, binoculars, and/or a camera! Quite honestly, though, you'll be comfortable, dry, and out of the sun on your tour, so nothing truly is needed...except a desire to have fun! On Time is fully covered with a Sunbrella Bimini Top and is completely enclosed by custom made vinyl windows. There are NO bad views from anywhere on this boat! Most of the other local tour boats do not have this level of protection from the elements or comfort for their passengers.
Do you serve alcohol?
No, we are not licensed to serve alcohol, but you are welcome to bring white wine and adult beverages. Please note dark wine can stain our deck and floors, so we really don't want it onboard. No large heavy coolers please. We have a cooler and refrigerator onboard that are available for your use.
Will I get sea sick?
The Element XR7 is VERY stable and we have never had anyone get sick onboard.
Should I tip?
It is always appreciated as our work does not stop when we dock.
Is there a bathroom?
There is a head onboard for unexpected emergency use. However, it is a little tricky to use so we advise using the public restroom prior to boarding.
Is there a refrigerator?
Yes, a small refrigerator is available. We can easily cool those adult beverages!
What kind of wildlife will we see?
Along Pt Defiance, we enjoy a preferred area for our local Harbor Seals - sometimes 3 to as many as 100 seals can be seen frolicking in the water or snoozing along the beach. Eagles are a frequent sight and we point out known nests throughout the tour. Great Blue Herron's are often perched on the docks or along the shore feeding. Porpoises are often sighted on our longer cruises. Whales....yes! We have definitely seen Humpback and Orca whales within our tour areas. If found while on a tour, we will ensure you have a great view of them and get to experience seeing such awesomeness, but keeping back our required distances from them.
Can I bring children?
Yes, children are welcome and encouraged! For your enjoyment, we recommend that they be 3 years and up. Prior arrangements will be made to ensure proper life jackets are available for the tour. Any child under the age of 12 must be suited up prior to boarding the boat. We have limited child sized life vests aboard, and always encourage you being your own so the kiddo will be most comfortable.
Can I bring food?
Yes, you may bring your own food. Please, no messy or greasy snacks that could stain (i.e. Cheetos types). We highly recommend our fruit, cheese, salami and cracker platter as it's delicious, made to order, and generously sized so that it can be easily consumed while enjoying the tour (available upon request, at least 24 hours prior to your tour, for $50.00). We can also refrigerate beer and soft drinks, so leave the cooler on shore!
Can I do a custom tour?
Absolutely! We can customize any type of boating adventure you would like. Birthday parties, engagements, employer team-building experiences, memorials, water side real estate viewing, etc. Give us a call and we can work out the details! Simple chartering trips for local transports from point "A" to point "B" are available, as well.
Will I be sharing the boat with other people?
Never! Our prices are per voyage, for you and your guests alone! We clean/disinfect touch surfaces between tours. We are fully COVID vaccinated/boosted, and will gladly show proof upon request. If you, or any of your guests, are experiencing any of the normal COVID symptoms, or are in a recommended quarantine window, we respectfully ask you to reschedule.
Do you accept debit/credit cards?
Absolutely! Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and US currency are accepted. Full payment will be processed at the end of the cruise, via our Square Terminal (yep, the same one you see in retail stores/restaurants!), with a receipt upon request. So, feel free to swipe, dip, tap or call for payment!
When do I pay for my tour?
Payment is due at the time of booking your tour; however, final processing will be completed at the end of your adventure. No refunds will be allowed, but we are happy to reschedule your tour when given a 48 hour notice (or if rescheduled by us due to weather restrictions). If a tour cannot be rescheduled, a gift certificate will be issued for another time.
Are tours ever rescheduled?
For your touring enjoyment tours will be rescheduled due to inclement weather. High winds, fog, and extreme low tides will be a factor for us and will be consulted upon for your date/time scheduling. Trust us, we want to have you aboard to experience these amazing waters, but if the whether doesn't cooperate, we'll err on the side of caution so that you get the best experience!
What not to bring?
High heeled shoes are discouraged. No greasy or messy snacks, please.
